On a very unsettled August Saturday. Vintage Trains ran an Excursion to Oxford and Blenheim Palace with Castle class loco No 5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe in charge. The weather for the outgoing train from Tyseley to Oxford via the North Cotswold line through Evesham was reasonable with the odd sunny spell and rain showers. But during the afternoon widespread heavy Thundery downpours rolled in from the South over much of Oxfordshire and Warwickshire. Luckily my evening shots of the return leg at Leamington spa were taken in a dry slot but it was very dark and gloomy but still worth the gamble of missing the rain. The sight and sound of the Castle leaving Leamington was something special!
