This small very friendly railway runs for approximately 5 miles through the Leicestershire countryside following the course of the Ashby canal between the villages of Shakerstone and Shenton. It is operated and manned entirley by very enthusiastic volunteers.
With just one station mid way Market Bosworth (due to open to the public in 2011) The loco sheds can be found at Shakerstone. If a member of staff is available they will give you a tour around them for a small donation! Also at Shakerstone you will find a large fleet of Heritage diesels. There is a small but facinating Museum within the original Midland railway station building along with a victorian cafe.
Resident steam locos are Sir Gomer and The Mayflower along with other small industrials
